Ballycroy National Park is Ireland’s sixth National Park and located on the Western seaboard in northwest Mayo. It comprises of 11,000 hectares of Atlantic blanket bog and mountainous terrain, covering a vast uninhabited and unspoilt wilderness dominated by the Nephin Beg mountain range.

The lake is located in the middle of the Ox Mountain range and lies between Lough Talt (to the south) and the village of Dromore West (near the north coast).
This section of the route follows minor mountain roads and tracks across the top of Templeboy to the scenic Ladies Brae and Lough Achree.
A world-class 80km National Mountain Bike Trail Centre consisting of 76km of single track cycling trails and related facilities in the Coillte-owned Coolaney Forest on the Ox Mountains and along the Wild Atlantic Way.
